The Culver City Garden Club will host Talia Dotson, Urban Greening Community Organizer for Tree People on Oct. 7, 2022. She’ll give a powerpoint presentation “California Natives for L.A. Locals”. She’ll also have a “show & smell” of area plants.
Tree People was founded in 1973, and has connected more than 3 million people in planting and caring for more than 3 million trees. “We unite with communities to grow a greener, shadier and more water-secure city at homes, neighborhoods, schools and in the local mountains. We work with volunteer leaders using our unique Citizen Forester model, and we influence government agencies for a healthy, thriving Southern California.”
Dotson (pictured above) heads Tree People’s local efforts to educate and expand the use of California native plants for landscaping and habitat restoration.
The meeting begins at 7:00 PM, in the Garden Room of the Veterans’ Complex, Overland @ Culver. The talk will start around 7:30PM and last about 45-60 minutes.
There will also be refreshments, Show, Tell & Ask, and a plant raffle.
All are welcome!
