Today’s the Day; August 11 Deadline to File for City Council Race

As summer and vacations draw to a close, so does the window to file papers to run for Culver City Council. The election, which will be held with state and national contests on November 8, 2022, has two seats on the city council in play. Council member Alex Fisch has announced his run, and Mayor Daniel Lee has let it be known he will not be running again.

Other candidates who have already filed to run for the office include Freddy Puza and Khin Khin Gyi, who both ran in 2020, as well as Denise Renteria, Dan O’Brien, and Devin Yeager.

All that is required is that the candidate be at least 18 years old, a resident of Culver City, and have 20 signatures of Culver City residents willing to support the contest.
