Culver City Symphony “Opera at the Shore” July 14

This coming Thursday, July 14, the Culver City Symphony will return to Marina del Rey to present a classic “Opera at the Shore” evening. This concert is a Tribute to Frank Fetta, who led the Orchestra as Music Director and Conductor for over 40 years, and features four of Frank Fetta’s favorite singers in a packed program of great opera solos and ensembles.

Guest Conductor Brain Alhadeff, from Opera San Luis Obispo, leads us in a program of familiar favorites, starting with John Williams’ “Olympic Fanfare” and ending with Verdi’s “Brindisi” Drinking Song from La Traviata. In between, your will hear our wonderful soloists in excerpts from operas and musicals including Carmen, Don Giovanni, The King and I, Porgy and Bess, La Bohème and more.

Bring your picnic, a blanket, and a jacket (the ocean breeze can be quite cool once the sun goes down) and join us by the water in Burton Chace Park.
