Planned Parenthood Endorses Kamlager in Congressional Run

State Senator Sydney Kamlager, who is running for the congressional seat being vacated by Congresswoman Karen Bass, has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood.

“Across the country, from state legislatures to the courts, sexual and reproductive health care is under attack. This year, abortion is on the ballot, and it is more important than ever to elect champions to Congress who will take on the fight ahead. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is excited to endorse Sydney Kamlager, who is committed to protecting abortion access and championing sexual and reproductive health priorities,”  Alexis McGill Johnson, president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund offered.

Kamlager was pleased to get the nod, knowing that as the election comes closer, voters will be looking at endorsements to discover connections. “They stand with me because they know I stand with them – always have, always will. And when I go to Washington, I’ll make it my priority to pass laws that put women’s rights front and center. There are many who intend to silence our voice, remove our choice, and control our bodies. Last year alone, more than 600 abortion ban bills that stem from misogyny and racism were introduced in legislatures across the country. Many were signed into law.”

The creeping erosion of women’s rights is one of the chief concerns of Planned Parenthood, and Kamlager is adamant in her support.

“And now, access to abortion really depends on where you live. I’m not having it. That’s why I’m partnering with Planned Parenthood and the County of L.A. to make the City of Los Angeles the first Abortion Safe Haven City in California – for our sisters who don’t have access to abortion in places like Texas and Mississippi. California is Ground Zero for the resistance – we have our eyes, our policies, and our resources laser-focused on how to protect women across this country.”
