After coming within a slender margin of victory on his first run, Freddy Puza officially launched his second campaign for the Culver City Council on Sunday, March 13, 2022. A casual gathering at the home of former Mayor Meghan Sahli-Wells and her spouse, Karim Sahli, functioned as both announcement and call for volunteers. More than fifty people filled the patio to applaud Puza’s efforts, and listen to remarks on the goals of the campaign.
With in-person campaigning paused by the pandemic on the last city council race, there is likely to be a host of in-person events before voters hit the polls in November.
If elected, Puza would be the first openly LGBTQ council member in Culver City’s history.
