Sunkist Park Mailbox Missing on Election Day

When Culver City resident Meredith Vogt went out this morning, she noticed that her neighborhood mail box at McDonald Street and Slauson Avenue had been removed, seemingly without any advance notice or authorization.

That this mailbox disappeared on the morning of the Gubernatorial recall election also struck her as interesting timing. She called the Culver City Police to report the problem.  They told her that she was not the first person to notify them about the suddenly missing mailbox.

While there is no way of knowing now if anyone’s ballot went missing as result of the vanishing mailbox, neighbors are reminded that they can track their ballot through the Los Angeles County Registrar’s Office, at https://www.lavote.net/

If you live in Sunkist Park and dropped you ballot there on Sept. 13, you are advised to sign up for tracking and make sure your vote is counted.
