Wende Museum’s Art-Past-Present to Conclude Online Series with Shapovalov on “Image Diplomacy”

This week will be the tenth and final online interview in the series Art-Past-Present. Our guest is Vladislav Shapovalov, an artist and researcher living and working in Milan and Moscow. Since 2008 he has been studying exhibitions as a medium to explore entanglements between objects, geopolitics and history. His project “Image Diplomacy” (2015-present) focuses on Cold War exhibitions and soft power, such as Soviet exhibition travel kits and the American traveling exhibition “Family of Man.” We will speak with him about making exhibitions about exhibitions and connecting past and present in creative and often surprising ways. Once more co-hosted by my wonderful friend Farrah Karapetian.

Wednesday, June 16, 12 p.m. PST: Vladislav Shapovalov
