With an estimated 42% of Culver City residents already vaccinated, the end of the pandemic draws closer every day. Still, COVID-19 remains the leading cause of death in Los Angeles County, and all precautions need to remain in place.Wearing a mask (or two,) frequent, thorough hand washing and limiting interpersonal contacts are wise ways to protect yourself and those around you.
Los Angeles County passed the marker of 23,000 COVID-19 deaths Thursday, March 25, 2021. Despite lives lost, there is reason to be optimistic that the daily death toll and infections will continue to decline.
Both deaths and hospitalizations continue to drop as vaccinations increase. Governor Gavin Newsom has noted that there will be a spike in vaccine supply in the coming month.
Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer offered “Expanding vaccine eligibility over the next couple of weeks will make it easier for more people to get vaccinated provided the county receives more doses.”
