LA County Vaccination Update – Appointments Available Online or by Phone

LA County is actively vaccinating healthcare workers, staff and residents at long-term care facilities, and residents 65 years or older. Eligible residents, currently included in Phase 1A, Tier 1 of the State Vaccine Allocation Guidelines, with internet access and a computer are urged to use the Vaccinate LA County website to reserve an appointment.

For those without access to the internet, or with disabilities, a call center is open daily from 8 AM to 8:30 PM to help schedule appointments; dial (833) 540-0473 if you are in need of assistance. Please note that this phone line is reserved for people with disabilities or for those who don’t have internet access.

The next phase is Phase 1B Tier 1 of the State Vaccine Allocation Guidelines: Education and Childcare workers, Food and Agriculture workers, and Emergency Services workers. LA County anticipates rolling vaccine out to these workers March 1.

Nearly 1,541,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given out in LA County. Of those vaccinated, 399,642 people have received second doses. This means 5.1% of the County’s population of those 16 and older have now been fully vaccinated. 39% of residents 65 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine. The vaccines are safe, effective and prevent serious illness. Register on the MyTurn website to be notified when you’re eligible to receive your vaccination.

There continues to be a scarcity of supply and variability in the amount of vaccine received from week to week. Last week, LA County received 219,700 doses of vaccine, and the majority of vaccines were used to provide second doses. This week there are 391 vaccination sites administering vaccine in LA County, including large capacity vaccination sites like the ones at the Forum and Dodger Stadium and sites run by hospitals, pharmacies, health clinics and Federally Qualified Health Centers. Together the County has the capacity for 500,000 appointment slots this week; currently, there are only enough doses to distribute less than half that—a little over 211,000 appointments.
