Tower Lights Up Crimson and Gold in Honor of George Floyd

Veterans Memorial Building Tower Illuminated in Honor of George Floyd. Houston Mayor Mayor Sylvester Turner asked his fellow Mayors across the nation to light their public buildings in crimson and gold tonight to show support for George Floyd’s family. Crimson and gold are the colors of his high school Alma Mater Jack Yates High School. “Our city and our world has been in turmoil. The apparent murder of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis was a horrible tragedy – one of countless tragedies to befall people of color across the United States,” said Culver City Mayor Goran Eriksson.

Thank you to Culver City’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department for lighting the Tower.
