As often happens in Culver City, when asked to agree to a tax, we agree completely. Voters agreed to extend the existing 0.5% sales tax until 2033, rather than allowing it to expire in 2023.
This keeps our current sales tax at a rate of 10.25%.
Voting yes 4, 655 residents of Culver City agreed to keep the tax on the books, compared to 1,585 who voted to let it end. The 74.60% yes vote was a clear victory for the general fund, and emergency services.
The 1/2 cent tax generates almost $10 million annually for the city.
