February will see the Westside Urban Forum’s signature annual event, the Westside Mayors Panel WUF is pleased to welcome the Westside mayors for a candid discussion of each mayor’s priorities for 2020, specific issues of importance to each city, and where these priorities and issues intersect to anticipate changes that may be coming to the Westside in 2020.
Topics will include the economic outlooks for their cities; planning for transportation changes and the implications for future land use related to extension of the Purple Line subway, automated vehicles, ride-hailing companies, shared mobility devices; planning for climate change; and the issue that ranks at the top for all of LA County: homelessness and the provision of more housing. The Westside cities are also facing their respective regional housing allocations, requiring them to plan for hundreds or even thousands of new units. Whether or not SB 50 passes, the mayors may discuss their visions for increasing density and managing traffic.
Come hear directly from the decision makers what’s on their minds, what they would like to accomplish, and how they intend to work together in 2020.
