This winter season, colder temperatures have been forecast for Los Angeles County. In preparation for the cold weather, Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) has opened shelters to provide safety for people experiencing homelessness.
If you or someone you know needs emergency shelter in Culver City, the nearest winter shelter is located at the West Los Angeles Armory: 1300 Federal Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90025
Walk-ins are not accepted at the West LA Armory. All individuals who want to access this shelter need to go to the designated pickup areas at:
West LA – West LA–Bus Stop near Gas Station (Cadillac Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard, Los Angeles 90034). Pick Up Time is at 4:30 PM
Venice Skate Park – (1800 Ocean Front Walk, Venice 90291). Pick Up Times are at 5 PM, 6:30 PM, and 7:30 PM.
Winter shelters run on a first-come, first-served basis for single adults. Families with children under 18 years old in need of shelter should contact 2-1-1.
If you are concerned about someone experiencing homelessness in your neighborhood, please contact City staff at 310-253-5989 or visit LAHSA’s website to complete a Homeless Outreach Request. A local homeless outreach team will come out to assist with the homeless individual(s).
