National Night Out Fills Vets Park with Creativity, Cops and Community

Summer is the time to take full advantage of Culver City’s spacious parks, and Tuesday, August 6, 2019 saw a crowd at Vets Park for National Night Out. An annual event that gives the community a chance to interact with police and fire personnel on a one-on-one basis, getting to know our city’s service providers while enjoying music, food, games, and lots of conversation.

Long time member of the force Captain Ron Izuka was given an award by State Senator Holly Mitchell, accompanied by CC Mayor Meghan Sahli-Wells and State Assemblymember Sydney Kamlager-Dove  (photo above.)

Hundreds turned out for the event, which has grown steadily more popular over the years, and is part of a national effort to foster more ease of communication and non-emergency connections for communities and the police officers who serve them.
