Coolhaus knows ice cream, architecture and innovation; this coming weekend innovation will take center stage with the premier of mustard ice cream. This frozen limited-time treat is happening thanks to a partnership between French’s, the yellow mustard that is one America’s favorite condiments and the fabulous women of Coolhaus ice cream. August 3rd is in fact National Mustard Day, making this spicy yellow confection a taste of good timing.
You’ve not met Coolhaus yet? Co-founders Natasha Case and Freya Estreller started baking cookies, making ice cream, and combining them into “cool houses” in 2008. With mutual backgrounds in design and real estate, they began naming their ice cream sandwiches after architects and architectural movements that inspired them – and eventually decided to take their newfound passion (dubbed “Farchitecture,” or Food + Architecture) to the people.
What goes with mustard ice cream? A pretzel cookie, of course.
