Culver Steps Completes Construction – Amazon Studios Moving In

The Culver Steps are complete, and Amazon is moving in.

After breaking ground on November 8, 2017, the work is now coming to an end at The Culver Steps development. All office space has been leased by Amazon Studios, and employees will be moving in this month.

Designed by the same firm that resurrected the Kirk Douglas Theater, EYRC Architects, the design was said to be inspired by the famous Spanish Steps in Rome. Creating more space for commerce while beautifying the plaza for public use were goals that were both met.

The four-story building has 75,000 square feet of creative office space along with 40,000 square feet of retail and a 35,000-square-foot public plaza. While the office space is all Amazon, the retail tenants are not moving in just yet. The steps are planned to be the seating space for audiences to enjoy public performances at the site.

  1. Horrible. This destroyed downtown Culver City. Ended a historic studio space and evicted long time tenants including 93 year old Mel Brooks who had an office there for 30 years. What were they thinking?
