It’s the problem you walk past every day; the homeless. What can you do? Find out on May 9 at a free screening and panel discussion of “The Advocates” presented in partnership at Antioch University with the United Way of Greater Los Angeles’ Everyone In campaign.
Filmed over a period of three years, the documentary “The Advocates” provides an intimate look at the history and causes of LA’s current homelessness crisis and an up-close view of the tireless work of advocates who strive to create better lives for those living on the streets.
After the screening, director Remi Kessler and community representatives and advocates (including two Antioch alumni) discuss their work and what you can do to get involved. Panelists will include Vanessa Rios, AULA MA in Urban Sustainability alumna, Celina Alvarez, Executive Director, Housing Works and AULA MA in Nonprofit Management alumna, Remi Kessler, director of The Advocates (KSA Productions), and Chelsea Byers, of the Everyone In campaign.
There will also be a reception with drinks and light refreshments.
