Ana Belcher Wins PTA ‘Reflections’ Honors

CCHS student Ana Belcher has won first place for Visual Arts in the Reflections Art Contest at the 33rd District level. She now moves on to the state level competition.

Ana’s piece, “Don’t Touch My Hair,” was created in response to the 2018-2019 theme – Heroes Around Me.

Each year, students grades Pre-K through Grade 12 create and submit original works of art in one or all of the available arts categories, including dance choreography, film, literature, music, photography and visual arts.

Artworks are submitted first to school-level PTAs, where they are first recognized, celebrated and judged by five grade-level divisions. School site PTAs then choose a selection of entries to be judged by district PTA councils. The finalists are then submitted to California State PTA by districts are then considered for Outstanding Interpretation, Awards of Excellence or Awards of Merit. Outstanding Interpretation and Award of Excellence entries, and then go on to represent California in the final National PTA judging round.
