Our General Election, on November 6, 2018, is of vital significance nationally and locally, and the issues facing candidates and measures at the state, country, city and school levels can make casting your ballot seem complex and confusing. It’s important that your completed ballot accurately reflects your position on each option. To help you sort through the issues and background information to arrive at informed choices, Lara Embry, an impartial, get-out-and-vote advocate with a legal background, is hosting a workshop on how to read and understand your 2018 ballot.
Lara will lead two free workshops at the Y, each lasting about an hour. Please bring your sample ballot with you to the workshop:
Wednesday, October 24, 2018, 7pm
Sunday, October 28, 2018, 4pm
Here’s what Lara will cover:
• The “Official Voter Information Guide” you should have received in the mail
• A review of the candidates and judges
• Literature sent in support of candidates and measures
• How to glean information from websites for measures, candidates and judges
