On Wednesday, April 4, at 11:00 am, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will join Congresswoman Nanette Barragán and Congressman Ted Lieu to host a town hall in Culver City on the TrumpTax’s disastrous impact on California’s working families. The town hall is hosted in partnership with Health Access California and is the latest event on a nationwide tour to shine a light on Republican tax breaks for millionaires, billionaires and wealthy corporations at the expense of working families. Leader Pelosi recently hosted similar town hall events in Phoenix, Chicago, Boca Raton, Houston, San Antonio and Cambridge.
The Tax Policy Center found that 86 million middle-income families across America will pay more in taxes, while the richest 0.1 percent will get a nearly $150,000 tax break with the Trump Tax. Moreover, millions of Americans will see a 10 percent increase in health insurance premiums and our commitment to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security will be undermined.
After the April 4th event, the 100-day tour will continue hosting events around the country, featuring senators, congressional representatives, local elected officials, and people affected by the law. The Repeal the Trump Tax tour will conclude with 100 nationwide events the weekend of April 14th to mark the one-year anniversary of the Tax March.
The April 4th event is free and open to the public.
