After a thorough and extensive principal recruitment and selection process, which included four rounds of interviews and a Community Meet & Greet, the Culver City Unified School District is proud to announce Rebecca Ngo as the next Principal of Farragut Elementary School.
Ms. Ngo’s professional and educational background is impressive. With double Master’s Degrees from UCLA, Rebecca comes to Farragut from the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District where she was an elementary and middle school administrator at Will Rogers and John Adams (J.A.M.S.), respectively. Among Ms. Ngo’s contributions to her school communities, she helped bring focus to the whole child — including expanding theatre arts programs, enriching the school day with student-driven clubs and activities, and developing a middle school Response To Intervention model that bolstered, both, student achievement and self-efficacy.
Nationally Board Certified, Ms. Ngo’s teaching experience includes teaching second and third grade in Los Angeles, and abroad in Japan through the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET Program). An instructional leader, Ms. Ngo is known to her colleagues for her contributions to professional development in everything from CGI Math and Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop, to Bullying Prevention and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy.
Rebecca is happily married with two young children, Calvin (age 4) and Stella (age 3). And in her spare time, she likes to take walks around the neighborhood, explore local museums, and dance around the house in her pajamas with her kids.
Please join me in welcoming Rebecca Ngo to her new role as Principal of Farragut Elementary School pending Board approval later this month. Rebecca believes in the value of building strong relationships with teachers, staff, parents, and community members; and if you’d like to get in touch with her to welcome her to Culver City, feel free to email her at [email protected]
