Bass to Offer Climate Change Roundtable – Jan. 28

Climate-change-how-does-it-workDid you know that Black and Latino communities will bear the worst effects of climate change, including respiratory health problems from increased concentration of air pollution?

Climate change amplifies existing health threats, such as heart attacks, asthma, and other respiratory diseases, and it disproportionately impacts low-income and minority communities.

The results of the election do not change the urgent need for climate action. With the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under threat, and an incoming administration that denies the clear science, citizen engagement is more important than ever.

Please join Congresswoman Karen Bass for a lively roundtable discussion addressing the pressing issues of climate change in South Los Angeles and across the city:

Engage with key experts on what the science actually tells us;
Learn how this may affect YOU and your family;
Find resources and connect to community advocates.
What: Climate Change in the New Administration: Why South LA Should Care.
When: Saturday, January 28, 10 am to 12pm
Where: Community Coalition, 8101 S. Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, 90044
