Only ten days away – the long awaited Expo Line to Santa Monica will be opening with style, with events planned at six stations including food trucks and live music.
Every station from here to the end of the line – Culver City, Palms, Bundy, 26th Street/Bergamot, 17th Street/Santa Monica College and Downtown Santa Monica at Colorado will be a part of the kick-off.
FREE rides to the public on the entire Expo Line starting at noon Friday, May 20th through midnight Saturday, May 21st, so everyone will have a chance to ride the light rail.
The new extension of the $1.5 billion light rail to the Pacific Ocean extends from the existing Expo Line Culver City station to Downtown Santa Monica linking Westside neighborhoods and expanding the Metro Rail system to over 100 miles of rail. The Expo Line is a sustainable, cost effective alternative to grid-lock on the I-10 freeway.
