A celebration of the life of the late Kari Fretham will be happening on Friday, December 18, 2015, from 8pm ~ 11pm at the Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center located at 4305 Degnan Blvd. Ste 101 in Los Angeles, CA 90008.
Kari (pictured above with long time companion Southside Slim) was a teacher at Culver City Middle School, a passionate advocate of arts in eduction, and film maker whose documentary “Hot Love on Me – the Blues of South LA” has been screened at many local venues. She was the Sony Pictures 2012 Teacher of the Year in addition to being named as a Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year in 2012. She was a finalist for the BRAVO awards in 2011.
Please come and share your favorite memories, break bread and enjoy some soul stirring music with Kari’s friends from all over Los Angeles.
