AVPA Fall Concert to Offer Halloween Inspired Fun

unnamed-1Musical tricks and treats are in store at the AVPA Music Department’s Fall Concert, coming to Robert Frost Auditorium at Culver City High School on Thursday, October 29. Starting at 7 p.m., the free, family-friendly evening will feature Halloween-inspired music plus a pre-concert treat activity for youngsters who attend in costume ( so you will want to attend in costume!)

The Orchestra will perform the Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns while the Concert Band takes on Prokofiev’s classic Peter and the Wolf, with a special guest narrator. The Chamber Singers will sing a medley of hits from Phantom of the Opera, Little Shop of Horrors, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Also getting into the Halloween spirit will be the Jazz Ensemble — with tunes including Old Devil Moon, Killer Joe, and Mack the Knife — plus the Jazz Combo and Sax Ensemble.

Admission is free; donations are welcome and benefit the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts. The Robert Frost Auditorium is located at Culver City High School, 4401 Elenda St., Culver City, CA 90230.
