The Mathematics Leadership Corps, which provides intensive on-going professional development, instructional rounds, modeling and coaching to all participating teachers, has been selected as the winner of the California Council on Teacher Education (CCTE) Award for Advancing Current Pedagogy. The competition for the award included all state universities, both public and private, and CCUSD will be receiving an award and presenting at the CCTE annual conference on October 23.
CCUSD was fortunate to have been provided with this program as part of a grant to fund mathematics professional development K-12 utilizing Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) for elementary and Math Learning and Leadership by Design (MLD) for secondary. All five of the District’s elementary schools, as well as Culver City Middle School and Culver City High School, participate in the program.
