Veterans Career Summit to Open Opportunities

San Francisco Career Fair Helps Military Veterans Find JobsSecuring and sustaining employment is key for the health of all veterans, their families, our neighborhoods and our city’s economy as they return back from war. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has partnered with public organizations, private-sector employers and regional nonprofits to help veterans transition back into civilian life through a career summit initiative that is veteran focused.

The 10,000 Strong Veterans Career Summit: “Empowering Veterans with Opportunities to Lead and Thrive in Our Communities,” will take place on July 14, 2015 at the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall & LA Trade Tech College, and provide job opportunities for veterans throughout the area.

The one-day event will help job seekers and veteran entrepreneurs network with career and business experts, connect job seekers with on-site hiring managers, and provide valuable tools for veteran entrepreneurs to access capital, develop business proposals and compete for government contracts. It will offer more than 500 job placement opportunities for all veterans including those returning from the War in Afghanistan to transition into the workforce.

Summit organizers are urging all area veterans to take full advantage of this event. For more information, please visit www.10kstrongsummit.com.
