Beginning this month, Culver City RSVP is now referred to as The Culver City Volunteer program! There’s a vital and long-standing tradition in Culver City of volunteering and donating to those in need and to the city as a whole.
Jill Thomsen, the city’s volunteer coordinator, said “I’ve been on the job for nine years, and we have volunteer opportunities for people of all ages, and while we do have more than 400 seniors registered with the program, we want people to know that you don’t have to be retired to be a volunteer with the city.”
Noting that “There are always volunteer opportunities coming up for events – like Fiesta La Ballona – and things that are ongoing. We do have to secure volunteer positions for teenagers – not every post can be filled by someone who is a minor, but believe me, there are volunteer slots out there for anyone who wants one. We have more than 60 organizations that we help out, and that takes lots of people, of all ages.”
