Black Talkies @ Mayme Clayton to Offer ‘Tom Bradley’s Impossible Dream”

Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley Portrait SessionBlack Talkies on Parade starts 2015 with a locally made documentary on one of L.A.’s pioneering politicians, Tom Bradley, with a screening of the film Tom Bradley’s Impossible Dream. Bradley was elected into office in 1973, served for twenty years making him L.A.’s longest serving mayor, and was the first African American mayor of Los Angeles. During his five terms he helped revitalize downtown and made many civil rights gains. The afternoon will be hosted by Director Lloyd Clayton and will feature a post screening discussion led by Les Wills. Spend an afternoon at the movies at MCLM and share your own stories of Tom Bradley and L.A. history.
