Culver City Offers Smart Gardening Workshops

Roads Watersmart GardenWhat makes a garden smart? Good compost, conscious watering and all the right kinds of plants. Culver City encourages residents to attend a free Smart Gardening workshop in 2014. No reservation needed. Learn to improve your lawn and garden and reduce waste.

Beginning workshops provide hands-on instruction on composting, worm composting, grass cycling, and water-wise and fire-wise gardening. Advanced workshops introduce organic gardening, landscaping with native friendly and drought tolerant plants, and integrated pest management, environmental ways to control pests.

Workshops are 1.5 hours long and will be held at:

Saturday, April 19, 2014 – Advanced Workshop

Saturday, July 26, 2014 – Beginning Workshop

Saturday, October 25, 2014 – Advanced Workshop

Residents can purchase a backyard or worm composting bin at a discount at workshops.
