On Friday, November 15, Linwood E. Howe Elementary School held a turkey-themed Family Fun Night event. At the conclusion of the event, there was a Thanksgiving raffle for all those who brought in a non-perishable food item to donate.
“Ruby Walsleben, a student at Lin Howe, was our lucky winner; and without a moment’s hesitation, she leaned over and whispered, ‘Can I donate this basket to a family in need?'” said Family Fun Night coordinator Nicole Stoltz. “I was so proud of her for her gracious and generous act of kindness.”
This week, that Thanksgiving dinner basket was donated to a Culver City family that needed a little help this holiday season. In addition, five other turkey dinners were also donated to local families and /or shelters.
Congratulations to Ruby for showing us all the spirit of the season!
