Crime Blotter – More Broken Glass

Crime Blotter for Dec. 24th through the 31st.
Residential Burglary:
On December 24, 2012 at 9:30 pm, officers responded to the 4300 block of Sawtelle Boulevard regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; he said he left his residence in the morning and his son left around 1:30 pm. When he returned at 9:30 pm discovered his residence had been ransacked and his property missing. The victim believes his son may have left the rear doors unlocked.
Vandalism:
On December 25, 2012 at 1:255 pm, officers responded to the 3400 block of Cattaraugus Avenue regarding a vandalism investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; he said at 2:00 am he heard a loud noise on the side of his residence. At around 1:00 pm, he went out to check the area and discovered unknown suspect(s) bent an awning that covered his water heater.
Commercial Burglary:
On December 26, 2012 at 2:00 pm, officers responded to the 13300 block of Washington Boulevard regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the owner of the business who told them the following; she locked and secured the location on December 24th and when she returned on the 26th discovered the front doors had been pried opened and her property missing.
Car Burglary:
On December 27, 2012 at 7:30 pm, a victim called the police department to report her 2012 Mercedes Benz had been burglarized. The victim said she parked and locked her car in the 4100 block of Overland Avenue on December 27th at 6:00 pm. When she returned at 7:15 pm she discovered her passenger window had been shattered and her property missing.
Robbery:
On December 31, 2012 at 4:15 am, officers responded to the 11200 block of Washington Boulevard regarding a robbery investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; he was working when the suspect entered the location and walked up to the counter and brandished a firearm and demanded the money from the cash drawer. The victim fearing for his safety gave the suspect money. The suspect then fled the location. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic, 5’8, thin build, short black hair and wearing a black jacket.
