At 7:39 a.m. on this Sunday, Sept. 12, a large section of Lindberg Park lost power. From Overland down to Rhoda, and Ocean to Studio, darkness reigned until 4:30 a.m., when the juice came back on. According to Southern California Edison the failure was due to an equipment problem. It was, specifically, an underground cable that failed, and so had to be dug up before it could be replaced. A twenty-one hour power outage is certainly long enough to make you think that investing in some candles would be a good idea.
