Even amidst a heat wave, hundreds of people showed up to celebrate the 9th annual fundraiser presented by Tito’s Tacos and sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, raising $25,600 for the Culver Arts Foundation in a single day.
To date, Tito’s Fiesta Mexicana has raised over $165,600 including the amount raised this year – with 100% of the event’s gross proceeds donated to the Culver City Arts Foundation each year. The proceeds support several programs throughout the year, including creative arts and performing arts grants, the Culver City Arts Projecting Possibilities Program, and the Culver Arts Book Festival.
Guests savored Tito’s Tacos’ award-winning tacos, burritos, and flan and those over 21 sipped Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails, and all enjoyed five hours of entertainment including the legendary GRAMMY-nominated Mariachi Sol de México de José Hernández; GRAMMY-nominated Mariachi Reyna de Los Ángeles, the trailblazing all-female mariachi ensemble; Trio Chapala, a traditional Mexican musical trio; Mariachi Juvenil Herencia Michoacana; Folklórico Revolución; Artista de Lazo; and El Conjunto Nueva Ola, a spirited Mexico City cumbia group known for its colorful lucha-libre masks and signature recording, “Chido Chido.” Comedian Eric Schwartz hosted the event.
Miniature piñatas by Yesenia Prieto of The Piñata Design Studio added a festive handcrafted touch to the celebration.
