The Los Angeles County Democratic Party has endorsed Culver City Mayor Freddy Puza for re-election to the Culver City Council, making him the only candidate in the race to earn the Democratic Party’s endorsement. The endorsement adds to a growing coalition of elected leaders, organizations, and community voices backing Puza’s campaign ahead of the November 3 election.
“I’m proud to have the support of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party,” said Mayor Puza. “This endorsement reflects the work we’ve done together: making Culver City more affordable, holding City Hall accountable, and delivering the basics residents expect. Progressive values and practical governance aren’t in conflict. They’re how we get things done.”
As Mayor and Council member, Puza has championed the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, delivered small business microgrants and fee relief, advanced tenant protections and a Right to Counsel pilot program, and expanded the Mobile Crisis Team. He led the City Council to adopt its first balanced budget in three years while investing in sidewalks, roads, childcare, and senior programs. As Culver City’s first openly LGBTQ+ Mayor, he has also established ICE-Free Zones and fought to make sure everyone feels they belong in Culver City.
“LACDP is proud to endorse Freddy Puza for his re-election,” said Mark Ramos, Chair of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party. “Freddy has delivered on affordability, accountability, and protecting every member of his community. He’s earned Culver City’s trust, and he’s earned ours.”
The Democratic Party’s endorsement joins a broad list of high-profile supporters including Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell, State Senator Lola Smallwood-Cuevas, Assemblymember Isaac Bryan, Vice Mayor Bubba Fish, Councilmember Yasmine-Imani McMorrin, Culver City Democratic Club, Westside Young Democrats, SEIU-Healthcare Works West, Equality California, Western States Regional Council of Carpenters, LA/OC Building and Construction Trades Council and over 100 grassroots community members
Puza’s campaign has also led the field in fundraising, outraising every other candidate in the race in both reporting periods this year. The campaign has raised over $80,000 to date from over 400 contributors, a reflection of the broad grassroots support behind his re-election
“Voters have a clear choice this November,” Puza added. “I’m running to keep Culver City within reach for working families, seniors, renters, and small businesses, and I’m grateful to have the Democratic Party standing with us.”
Culver City voters will cast their ballots on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
