Culver City Middle School will hold an “Instrument Petting Zoo” for incoming sixth-graders who are planning on joining Panther Band at CCMS. The event is designed for students who have not played an instrument before and would like to be fitted for an instrument before the school year starts.
The “Instrument Petting Zoo” will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 18 in Room 3 at CCMS.
An “Instrument Petting Zoo” is an interactive, often free, educational program where children and adults can touch, hold, and play various musical instruments from an orchestra or band. Commonly organized by local symphonies, libraries, and schools, these events aim to foster an interest in music by letting participants explore, “pet,” and make sounds with instruments in a low-stress, hands-on environment.
Each student will work with Ms. Forrester individually and try out a variety of instruments to see which is the best fit.
Interested students should reserve a time slot using the SignUpGenius link at:

Band instruments will include flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion.
