Board of Education Continues to Discuss Reopening – What, When and How?

At this week’s Board of Education meeting, Assistant Superintendent, Robert Quinn presented information on additional funding that was provided to us by the state. This funding is to address the school district’s needs as we enter into distance learning and in preparation of successful and safe reopening. Though CCUSD will start in distance learning in the fall, there is still much to do to prepare our campuses. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health(DPH) has released a document that outlines protocols required for the safety of our students and staff. The DPH protocols can be found here.

There was also a School Reopening update provided by Educational Services. We would like to remind our families that the options survey that was sent out to families is not binding. We understand that COVID-19 is a very fluid situation and choices made now may not be reflective of family comfort levels near future. We strongly encourage you to complete the survey if you have not done so already. If any additional guidance is needed, please send your questions to [email protected].

Finally, there will be a Board Workshop on Tuesday, August 4 at 6:30 p.m. The Equity Advisory Committee will present the Equity Strategic Plan for review prior to Board approval.
