The Physicists @ the Actors’ Gang

The unique brand of theater on offer at the Actors’ Gang has a few important hallmarks; classically crafted, slapstick silly and also deeply profound.

The current production of The Physicists runs all the bases, and slides into home with ease. Written by Friedrich Dürrenmatt in Germany in 1062, it’s shocking how current it feels.

Set in an insane asylum (sorry…sanitarium) where a trio of gentlemen are being held, under the belief that they are actually Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, and August Möbius.

The ethics of science, discussed in depth while careening through a murder mystery, a secret espionage scenerio and some fine scenery chewing comedy, hits the mark.
