On Saturday, April 18, 2026, jump on your bike and join Mayor Freddy Puza for a community cruise as we take a closer look at how our city works. Not just a ride from A to B, it’s a chance to see local environmental projects and chat about how we can make our city a better, greener place to live.
We’ll focus on the following:
• Active Transportation: Evaluate our bike infrastructure first-hand, including the “feel” of different street designs and explore the feasibility and experience of multi-modal alternatives like public transit.
• Biodiversity & Landscaping: Visit a curated selection of local gardens that showcase the beauty and necessity of native, drought-tolerant plants over synthetic alternatives.
• Resource Management: Observe active water reclamation projects and discuss the vital role of “lawn removal” and soil health in water conservation.
• Circular Waste Systems: Touch on the impact of local trash management and the growing importance of community composting.
Gather at CC City Hall at 9 am and roll out at 9:30 am. Ride duration: about 2 hours. Helmets are mandatory, water is suggested, and no training wheels, please.
