The Culver City Police Department created an unforgettable evening for 10 local families through a special Heroes & Helpers community outreach event, focused on building trust, fostering understanding, and making positive, lasting memories.
The evening began with dinner at a restaurant, proudly provided by the Culver City Police Department, where officers and families sat side-by-side, sharing meals and conversation. From there, families were treated to a shopping spree, made possible through the Heroes & Helpers program, allowing children and parents alike to select items of their choice in a joyful, stress-free environment.
More than just a night out, the event was designed to strengthen relationships between officers and the families they serve. “These moments matter,” said Chief Jason Sims. “When we take the time to connect outside of emergencies and calls for service, we build genuine relationships. That trust and human connection are the foundation of community safety.”
CCPD extends heartfelt gratitude to BJ’s Restaurant at Westfield Culver City for providing a welcoming space for dinner, and to Target and the Heroes & Helpers program for their generous partnership and continued commitment to supporting families and first responders.
