Blue Economy Job Fair at West LA College – October 23

The next wave of good jobs in Los Angeles may come from the ocean. From coastal restoration to marine technology, California’s Blue Economy — industries that use ocean and coastal resources sustainably to support economic growth and environmental health — is emerging as a powerful driver of innovation and climate resilience.

On Thursday, October 23, 2025, more than 300 high school students, their teachers, college students and community members will gather at West Los Angeles College (WLAC) for Blue Economy and Climate Action Pathways (BECAP) Career Day, an event designed to introduce young Angelenos to Climate Action Pathways—career routes that connect education, community, and environmental stewardship.

The event is co-sponsored by the college’s Center for Climate Change Education and its Career Center, underscoring the college’s commitment to preparing students for meaningful employment in the state’s growing clean and blue economies.
