Culver City High School’s Academy of Visual and Performing Arts Film program proudly announces that two of its student writer/directors, Charlotte Sasson and Jake Bossin, have been named Official Selectees in the 2025 All American High School Film Festival (AAHSFF)—the largest and most prestigious high school film festival in the United States.
Out of more than 2,500 submissions from 50 states and over 40 countries, Sasson’s and Bossin’s films were chosen to be screened at this distinguished event, which celebrates and empowers the next generation of filmmakers.
Charlotte Sasson, an incoming senior and next year’s co-president of AVPA Film, earned her second consecutive selection with her drama Flashback. Her directorial debut, You’re My Dream Girl, was an official selection at the 2024 festival.
Jake Bossin, an incoming junior and two-year co-president of AVPA Film, achieved selection with his comedy A+ Idiot.
Both films will premiere at AMC Theaters in Times Square during the festival weekend this October, where winners will be announced and over $600,000 in prizes and scholarships will be awarded.
“We are profoundly grateful to Sony Pictures Entertainment for their invaluable support—both financially and through camera and equipment donations—which has enhanced the professional quality of our students’ films,” said Holly Gable, Creative Director of CTE/AVPA Film.
