Final Weekend for “Puppet Up” @ KDT

Just a few more performances at the Kirk Douglas Theater; Puppet Up is the show you should catch right now. Brian Henson introduces the show with a brief history, some intriguing facts, and a few things you didn’t know about Jim Henson before the chaos begins.  Puppet Up is an improv show with Henson-company created puppets; not the group of Muppets you are familiar with, but they have all of the same charm, wit and quickness on their feet (or lack thereof) while entertaining in unique style. Not only do you get the puppets, you also get the puppeteers.

Puppet Up  goes to the flow of any other improv show, there are also pre-recorded bits, rehearsed performances originated by Jim Henson, Jane Henson, and long time company member Jerry Juhl, only returning to the stage for the first time in decades. Puppet Up audiences also get an animated octopus puppet who performs with some fish – one of the highlights of the evening.  Puppet Up is sure to make you laugh – and who doesn’t crave a good laugh right now – there’s also a lot to think about.

Puppet Up has three shows left at the Kirk Douglas Theatre (including one tonight), so catch the show on July 24th, 25th, 26th, and closes on the 27th.
