School Board Highlights Measure E

The money generated from Measure E has been put to work all over the Culver City Unified School District, and the School Board meeting on January 28, 2025 got a comprehensive report on how the work was progressing and being overseen.

The presentation to the school board included a recap of School Site Committee meetings, visits from the design team, engineers and the fire department, and program design phases on all campuses.

There was also a focus on the continued meetings of the district-wide Standards Committee.

The district-wide Standards Committee includes representation from each school site made up of community members, staff, and administrators to get their input. There are weekly internal meetings with maintenance and operations staff to assess their needs. This collaborative process ensures that the voices of all stakeholders are heard and that the resulting standards reflect the community’s values and priorities.

The goals of the committee are: 1) To create a standardized approach to all new construction and modernization projects to minimize ongoing operational cost; 2) To provide equity among all the school sites in program spaces; and 3) To create sustainable practices that can be implemented in all projects.

The Measure E overview also included explanations of aerial topography and 3D mapping that is being used for planning all construction projects.
