CCFD Back in Action with Strike Team @ Hughes Fire

The wildfire that broke out on Jan 22, 2025 in Castaic, now being called the Hughes fire, is benefitting from early prep by local firefighting companies.

Culver City Fire Department Engine Company 42  has been prepositioned in Santa Monica for this wind event for the last several days. As soon as the word went out that there was another fire burning, they were enroute to the problem area.

They are now working the line in Castaic as part of XLA-1075A with engines from Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and LAFD.

The fire, which straddles both Los Angeles and Venture Counties, is currently covering more than 10,000 acres and is less than 15% contained.
