CCUSD Celebrates Diwali!

Culver City and CCUSD celebrated Diwali with a family fun event. The afternoon featured Diwali artwork from El Rincon’s Arts and Innovation lab, displays about Indian heritage, delicious food, a rangoli art project, and a culture show.

CCUSD students Sananda A. and Sanjna G. emcce’d the culture show where kids gave a tabla demonstration, a Diwali presentation, and performed a variety of dances such as Bharatanatyam, Rajasthani dance, and Bollywood dance.

Diwali is one of the holiest days for Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs. Diwali signifies the victory of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and light over darkness.

Thank you to all the students who participated in the culture show, to the choreographers and parents who organized the performances, and thank you to the planning committee – VK Shah, Anjali Satyu, Yogita Verma, Shivani Kapur Shankla, Gurmeet Kaur Wadhwa, Dipti Vaidya, Kalyani Narayanan, and Deepa Makhija.
