The Fox Hills Neighborhood Association is inviting the community to speak out on the number of proposed developments already being scheduled for the area. As of October 24, 2024, there are five major developments on the chalkboard, and meetings coming up to address concerns.
5700 Hannum has a proposed 309 units; 5757 Uplander Way is proposed for 1106 units; 5730 Uplander Way will have 329 units; 1 Corporate Pointe is seeking to add 351 units, and 6201 Bristol Parkway is planning 846 units.
The total on all these proposals is 2941 new units of housing in an area of the city that is only 0.694 square miles. According to City Data, Fox Hills currently houses 10,223 people per square mile.
The state requires Culver City to build 3341 units by 2029.
From FHNA, ” Obviously our community has been targeted by the Culver City government to absorb most of the 3341 units due to the density designation of 100 units/acre on the south side of Slauson. The city knew that developers would flock to an area where there is a high density designation and developers did just that, with five proposals THUS FAR, as there is a high likelihood with more to come.”
All developers are required to host meeting for the community to preview and c0mment on the project. The community meeting for the development at 5730 Uplander Way is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29, at 7 pm at the Courtyard by Marriott in Culver City at 6333 Bristol Parkway.
