Looking for more family friendly fun? CONTRA-TIEMPO, Self-Help Graphics, and Barrio Mobile Art Studio invite you to join an afternoon featuring a performance of ¡azúcar! followed by an interactive art-making workshop on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 11 am to 2 pm at the Wende Museum’s new Glorya Kaufman Cultural Center.
azúcar! presents themes of ancestry, collective healing, and the warrior spirit. Using props and materials from the performance (i.e. sugar, sugar cane, piñata scraps), participants may create a visual art piece to engage, reflect and respond to ¡azúcar! and its themes.
Please bring 5×7 photos of ancestors to be used during the art workshop.
