Culver City Democratic Club: Complete Ballot Endorsements, from President to School Board

The Culver City Democratic Club has finalized their endorsements for the November ballot, and offer the names of all the candidates that have garnered the requisite numbers to make the grade for winning official CCDC approval.

The members of the Culver City Democratic Club have voted to endorse Sameen Ahmadnia for Culver City School Board. Although there are two open seats, neither of the other candidates reached the required 60%. Sameen Ahmadnia was endorsed on our first round and no candidate received the required 60% in the runoff. Andrew Lachman got 52%, Lindsay Carlson 15%, and the remaining voters preferred no endorsement.

Members who spoke in support of Ms. Ahmadnia at the Club’s August 14 meeting cited her performance at the Club’s candidate forum, which showed her command of the issues and commitment to student success and wellbeing.

Members also voted to endorse Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for President and Vice President by an overwhelming 98%, and 90% voted to endorse Sade Elhawary for State Assembly in District 57.

Culver City is in AD55, represented by Isaac Bryan. AD57 is to our east, made up of parts of South LA and Downtown. Their current Assembly Member, Reggie Jones-Sawyer, has endorsed Ms. Elhawary, as have Assembly Member Bryan, LA Mayor Karen Bass, County Supervisors Holly Mitchell and Hilda Solis, State Senator Lola Smallwood-Cuevas, Congress Member Sydney Kamlager, and many other Democratic leaders and groups. Club Politics and Elections Chair Leah Pressman said “We have amazing representation in Sacramento but they can’t do it alone. We need to help give them good colleagues.”
