Culver City Book Festival to Present Artist Laureates, Small Press, Poetry and Romance

Culver City Book Festival 6/29/2024

The Book Festival returns! The third annual Culver City Book Festival is happening this Saturday from 10 am through 4 pm in the garden of the Wende Museum with a free celebration of all things local and literary. There will be an incredible lineup of local publishers that reflect the many and diverse creative voices in our community. Come and enjoy a zine making station, creative writing classes and exercises with local authors, publishers and literary nonprofits.

In addition, there will be panels throughout the day on:

The value of artist laureate programs, featuring Luis J Rodriguez, Lynne Thompson, Katy Krantz and Brian Sonia Wallace and moderated by former Culver City Mayor, Thomas Aujero Small.

The issues faced by publishers of color including El Martillo Press, World Stage Press, Shabda Press, Libro Abierto and Chicanxs Sin Fronteras.

The current state of romance literature convened by The Ripped Bodice, featuring Justinian Huang, Emery Lee, Bridget Morrissey and Erin La Rosa.

We will also have poetry readings throughout the day from representatives of the exhibiting local publishers.

The festival is supported by the City of Culver City and is a joint effort of Culver City Arts Foundation, the Wende Museum, El Martillo Press and Village Well.
